Where the two rivers meet. I moved to Prince George to complete my BEd. I was very nervous moving to the North since it is so different from the South where I have always lived. However, through my educational journey I have learned so much about our surroundings and have grown to love nature. I got to experience things I would have never experienced in my hometown. Although it was a big adjustment, I am glad I got to see the beauty that lies within Prince George and I hope to use what I have learned in outdoor education in my classroom.
This was my very first inquiry project that I completed in my first year of the BEd program. My questions was, “why is it important to build relationships with students?”. To represent my inquiry I decided to create a storybook incorporating opposing teaching styles from the novel Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and the movie School of Rock. I loved being able to display my creativity with this inquiry.
I had never thought of myself as a coder. Although, coding was very intimidating to me at first, I was very engaged during the entire process. This is a great way to incorporate technology into any subject at all grade levels.
I felt like a kid again in my physical education class. I was able to participate in numerous activities as well as learn various skills that I will later implement in my very own physical education class. What’s more fun than having your teacher join you in the activity? I believe this is a great way to develop teacher and student relationships.
Gagan and I both went out of our comfort zones and created a French lesson plan for intermediate students. The goal of this lesson is for students to use a variety of resources to create their own menu in French.
Its the most wonderful time of the year! During a literacy class, I co-created lessons for a K/1 class based off of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. These lessons were full of various literacy activities.
I wouldn’t say that I’m musically gifted but I got to step out of my comfort zone when Julie Fisher gave us a lesson on playing the recorder. It was a lot of fun trying something that I haven’t done in over 15 years. I definitely feel a bit more confident in my musical abilities.
