Educators value the involvement and support of parents, guardians, families and communities in schools.
In my first practicum at Mission Central Elementary, the school created their own Le Carnaval based off of the Quebec City winter carnival. My grade 5/6 class was in charge of creating the games for the carnaval. Families and staff helped the students put on the carnaval. It took a lot of of preparation but I am so proud of the kids and the hard work they put in. This was also a great opportunity for the community to come together and have fun.
Attached below is a copy of the welcome letter I created for my last practicum. I believe it is important to build a relationship between the student, teacher, and parent to promote the best learning environment. I wanted to inform families that I would be contributing to their child’s education.
